shiken ikka 四間一花

Also ikka shiken 一花四間. A type of decorative flower pattern painted on coffered ceilings. Coffers *gouma 格間, are combined in groups of four, forming square-shaped units. A single flower is depicted using the four units; a part of the flower in each unit.
