| A gable roof *kirizuma-zukuri 切妻造, which has no gable pediments *tsuma 妻, because other structures are attached to the gable ends. Examples are Iga Hachimanguu 伊賀八幡宮, Honden 本殿, Heiden 弊殿, and Haiden 拝殿, 1636, in Aichi prefecture. The worship hall, Haiden, is 5×3 bays and is located at the front of the structure. Its roof is hip-and-gable style *irimoya-zukuri 入母屋造, and the main sanctuary, Honden , is 3-bays wide and has a flowing style gable roof of the same size on both sides, sangensha nagare-zukuri 三間社流造. The Honden is situated at the rear of the structure. The offering hall, Heiden, is 2×1 bays and is an example of the ryousage style, ryousage-zukuri, because its gable roof abuts the Haiden and Honden so that no gable pediments are possible. Its ridge is at right angle to the both the front and rear structures. | ||||||
