Lit. falling stone. Also pronounced otoshi-ishi. One of the trump stones *yaku-ishi –πΞ in front of the crawl door *nijiriguchi ηWŒϋ entrance to the tea hut *chashitsu ’ƒŽΊ. It is also called the second stone *niban-ishi “ρ”ԐΠbecause it follows the *fumi-ishi “₯Ξ, placed first outside the chashitsu, and in front of the *nori-ishi ζΞ. According to the SEKISHUURYUUDENSHO ΞB—¬“`‘, the ochi-ishi is placed between the fumi-ishi and the nori-ishi, but is usually about 3cm lower than the fumi-ishi and about 3cm higher than the nori-ishi.
