Also nuriatsu 塗厚. Depth of plastering. The ratio between the thickness from the first rough coat applied to the backing, shitaji 下地, to the outer surface of the finished coat, and the pillars of the framework. For example, if a post is 9cm thick, the thickness of the plaster would normally be 1.8 cm.
