noboriki 登木

Also pronounced noborigi. Also called *noboribari 登梁.

1 An alternative term used in Yamanashi prefecture for the various materials used in thatched roofs.

2 Timber used in an inclined position. Generally, any structural member in the roof framework which is angled. Examples includes rafters *taruki 垂木, tail rafters *odaruki 尾垂木, eave fillers *noboriuragou 登裏甲, and inclined eaves along the bargeboards *noborinoki 登軒.
