misugaki 御簾垣

Also sudaregaki 簾垣. A bamboo fence made of various kinds of slender bamboo strips that are set horizontally and secured to uprights with cords. The uprights can be round posts, two slender bamboo poles set together, or double poles about 2cm apart. This kind of fence can be used to partition one part of a garden from another, to screen off an unwanted view, or to delineate the edges of a garden.
