mino kenninjigaki 簑建仁寺垣

Also written 蓑建仁寺垣. Also called takehogaki 竹穂垣. A variation of the bamboo fence *kenninjigaki 建仁寺垣. It is skirted on each side by a long, straw fringe called takehobakama 竹穂袴, attached at the top of the fence under the coping or ridge, called munatsutsumi 棟包, made of sheaves of grain rolled and bound criss-cross at intervals.
