mesekigaki　目狭垣

A type of bamboo-ear gate takehogaki 竹穂垣 used for projecting fences *sodegaki 袖垣 in Rikyuu 利休 style tea gardens *roji 露地, such as that at Urasenke 裏千家, Kyoto. Young bamboo with leaves still attached are held close together by three-four horizontal bamboo bars *oshibuchi 押縁.
