manekihafu 招破風

An arrangement of bargeboards *hafu 破風 on a gable roof *kirizuma yane 切妻屋根 in which the bargeboards along the front gables of the roof are longer than the ones toward the rear. It is characteristic of a style of shrine architecture called *nagare-zukuri 流造, but is also found on toilet buildings, tea ceremony waiting pavilions *machiai 待合, and on some thatched huts.
