Also kunsu, kunshi εγŽq, mo Φ.@A skirt-like garment covering the lower part of a Buddhist priest's body from the hips down, and found on Buddhist images. Often used as an under-garment, and covered by an outer robe *kesa ŒUΎ, especially on *nyorai ”@—ˆ figures. On *bosatsu •μŽF and *myouou –Ύ‰€ images, however, the kun is worn with the upper body exposed except for an ornamental scarf.
