keshou moyageta 化粧母屋桁

Lit. exposed core purlin. A purlin *moyageta 母屋桁 in the core of a temple building: one of the structural members of a hidden roof *noyane 野屋根. If its ends extend into the gable pediment, it becomes visible. Because of this the entire purlin is called keshou moyageta.
