1　A structure with a tile roof. See *kawarabuki 瓦葺. 2　Also written 瓦家. From the beginning of 13c, the kiln in which roof tiles were fired, or the building in which the kiln was located. See *kawara 瓦, *kawarayane 瓦屋根. 3　A craftsman who manufactures or repairs roof tiles. Also *kawarabukishi 瓦葺師, kawarayaki 瓦焼.
