kakushiguchi 陰口

Also written 隠口. A hidden castle entrance.

1 A castle entrance *koguchi 虎口, where the parallel ramparts and moat meet in a staggered fashion. The entrance cannot be seen directly from outside because it has a small compound that projects out and one must approach the gateway by turning at a sharp angle and then entering.

2 An inconspicuous entrance constructed in an earthen embankment beneath a castle wall.
