kabutomon 兜 門

Lit. helmet gate. A type of front gate in tea gardens *roji 露地 that resembles a samurai helmet. The front gate of Ryuukouin 竜光院 at Daitokuji 大徳寺 best resembles the kabuto shape, although the name kabutomon is also given to the famous front gate of the Konnichian 今日庵 at Urasenke 裏千家.
