Also 如鱗木, gyorinmoku 魚鱗木. Lit. curly wood-grain. A beautiful, natural, wood grain, mokuri 木理, found on trees like zelkova, keyaki 欅. The grain has a series of wrinkled patterns thought to resemble fishscales.
