itomasa　糸柾

KEY WORD :　architecture / general terms

A shortened form of itomasame 糸柾目. Straight, narrow grained wood. Two examples are Japanese arborvitae, nezuko ねずこ and American cedar, beisugi 米杉. It is used for ceiling boards and for decorative purposes.
