ikekomigata tourou　いけこみ形灯籠

Also written 生込み形灯籠. A lantern which lacks a base; the stem is inserted directly into the ground. Most lanterns of this type are small for garden use, and have round stems; most often the oribe type *oribe dourou 織部灯籠 and Mile-post type, michishirubegata tourou 道しるべ形灯籠 are made in this manner.
