hiramitsudo 平三斗

Also called *mitsudo tokyou 三斗斗きょう, mitsudogumi 三斗組. A three-on-one, non-projecting bracket complex parallel to the wall plane of a Japanese building. One bracket arm, *hijiki 肘木, is first placed into a large bearing block, *daito 大斗, on top of a pillar and secured with a mortise, *hozoana ほぞ穴, and tenon, *hozo ほぞ. Then three smaller bearing block, *makito 巻斗, are arranged on top and attached to the bracket arm with a tenon and mortise.
