hikiwatashi koubai 引渡勾配

A hypotenuse. A mathematically computed straight line stretching from the peak of the ridge to the eave-end and used to help carpenters determine the amount of curve or slack in a roof. It is also called sugusumi 直墨 or hikiwatashizumi 引渡墨.
