1 A type of foliate panel *kouzama 格狭間, with a flower pattern. Also hanamon 花文.

2 A latticework panel with a flower pattern attached to the muntins. Muntins decorated in this way are called *hanakumiko 花組子. Zama 狭間 refers to the interstices in the latticework. Hanazama are found on windows and transoms *ranma 欄間, in Zen style architecture *zenshuuyou 禅宗様. Sometimes also refers to transoms with this design called *hanaranma 花欄間
