gyobutsudana 御物棚

A set of double cabinets with four sliding door panels attached to the ceiling next to the decorative alcove *tokonoma 床の間. The gyobutsudana features a single shelf that is laid across the full width of the space just above the halfway point between floor and ceiling. It is supported in the center by a strut creating a T-shaped pattern.
