ga-no-byoubu 賀の屏風

Lit. longevity screen. Type of folding screen made for celebrations of longevity, ga 賀. They were embellished with paintings of birds and flowers in the four seasons and a number of cardboard squares *shikishi 色紙, in five colors on which waka 和歌 poetry celebrating longevity was written. Descriptions of ga-no-byoubu are found in records from the Heian period, but no early examples are extant.
