The best example being the *shiki-e Žl‹GŠG (landscapes of the four seasons) painted on screens in the Illustrated Handscroll of The Tale of Genji Genji monogatari emaki ŒΉŽ•¨ŒκŠGŠͺ (early 12c). Another example can be found in the Illustrated Handscroll of The Miraculous Stories of the God of Kasuga Shrine Kasuga Gongen ‚‹enki emaki t“ϊŒ Œ»Œ±‹NŠGŠͺ by Takashina Takakane ‚ŠK—²Œ“ (1309; Imperial Collection).
