Also funagatakou MŒ`Œõ. Lit. boat-shaped halo. A halo *kouhai Œõ”w, with a pointed top, found on Buddhist images. The funagata kouhai encloses a round head nimbus *zukou “ªŒõ, and a body nimbus *shinkou gŒõ. Good examples are found on the central Shaka Nyoraizou Žß‰Þ”@—ˆ‘œ (623) in Houryuuji *Kondou –@—²Ž›‹à“°, and the Jizou bosatsuzou ’n‘ •ìŽF‘œ (10c) in Murouji Žº¶Ž›, both in Nara. Funagata kouhai are sometimes decorated with flying apsaras figures *hiten ”ò“V.
