Also written 腋門, or read *wakimon 脇門. A small gate adjacent to the large, main gate of a palace or nobleman's residence.
A very small gate cut within the lower part of one gate leaf is called *nezumikido 鼠木戸 or nezumito 鼠戸. Example: Futarasan Jinja 二荒山神社 (early 17c) in Tochigi prefecture.
