1@A sheathing made of boards and bamboo woven into a basket-weave pattern and used as a base for thatched roofing using a coarse tall grass called cogon grass (miscanthus) or ditch reed. For ordinary vernacular dwellings *minka –―‰Ζ about 1.8m long, thin bamboo, boards or ditch reeds are woven with rope to make a base for thatched roofs. The WAKAN SANSAIZUE ˜aŠΏŽOΛ}ŠG (1713) states that it was also a base used for pantile *sangawarabuki ŽVŠ’•˜ in the Edo period.
