|Ch: Yuanye. Lit. garden building. The only extant treatise on classical Chinese garden construction. Written by the late Ming dynasty garden designer Li Jicheng (Jp: Ri Keisei 李計成) or Ji Wupi (Jp: Kei Muhi 計無否), it was published in 1635. First titled Yuanmu (Jp: ENMOKU 園牧), in Japan it is also known by the titles MOKKEI ZENSHO 木経全書 and Dattensho (Jp: ATTENKOU 奪天工). Abundantly illustrated, EN'YA details the theory and technique of landscape design and garden architecture.|
