Lit. veranda corner rafter.
Also called sumisasu ‹χLŽρ. A brace placed under the outer corners of a veranda that extends around two or more sides of a building mawari-en ‰ρ‰. It is positioned between the struts *tsuka ‘© at the outer corners of the veranda and the corner posts of the building at a 45Kangle. Normally, the ensumigi projects beyond the corner of the veranda floor boards.
