dougudatami 道具畳

Lit. implement mat. The straw mat on which the host sits when he makes tea in a tearoom. It was given this name because tea-making implements are also placed on this mat. Dougudatami can be either a full length mat or a smaller *daimedatami 台目畳. Also *temaedatami 点前畳.
