chou-no-ya 庁の屋

Also written 庁舎 and read chou-no-ya or chousha. A building in which priests gathered to discuss ceremonies and rituals described in the SHINTOU MYOUMOKU RUIJUuSHOu 神道名目類聚鈔, a six volume set that is a type of Shinto dictionary contains information about various aspects of Shinto. Example: Chou-no-ya, now called the north Shinsenjo 神饌所 at Kamo Wakeikazuchi Jinja 賀茂別雷神社 (1863), Kyoto.
