A pale green pigment *ganryou Šç—¿, used in Japanese painting *nihonga “ú–{‰æ. Byakuroku is made by grinding down green malachite pigment *rokushou —ÎÂ; the smaller the particle size, the lighter the color obtained. Paints made from insoluble mineral pigments *iwa-enogu ŠâŠG‹ï, are mixed with animal glue *nikawa äP, for use.
