Lit. split reed. A style of round-stone paving *tama-ishijiki ‹ΚΞ•~, of the *ararekoboshi θΕ—λ‚΅ type. The joints between the stones are made avoiding right angles or repetition. This paving style derives its name from its complexity, which is said to be as difficult as making one's way through a ditch choked with reeds. It is frequently used in *souan ‘ˆΑ style gardens.
