Lit. blue gold. An alloy of gold or silver which contains impurities that create a color with a bluish tinge. In painting, it is usually used with pure gold or reddish gold, to provide contrast and give an unusual decorative effect. It may be used in paint *dei 泥 or leaf *haku 箔 form.
